Casa Agricola Rui Batel, Lda has its own areas of olive oil, olive groves, almond and wine production located in the most beautiful and strongest personality of Portugal: Douro Superior region, in the northeast of the country. Is this land flagship, where lies the oldest demarcated region of wine production, that every day, with passion, we put all our creativity and commitment to test in pursuit for excellence, honoring our secularity, but also looking firmly for the future, combining traditional and genuine region techniques with the most modern techniques and production methods.
From this intense and passionate commitment, come our extra virgin olive oils VALE DO NAVALHO and RABO DE PEIXE and our wines CAPATÃO, that reflect the excellence of the region for these crops, thanks to the nature of the schist soils, flora and rock rose, juniper, fennel, rosemary, broom, lavender, solar exposures and dry climate, characterized by large temperature differences between summer and winter, and reduced rainfall throughout the year.
It is in Almendra the slopes of the Douro Superior, that are born our extra virgin olive oils. VALE DO NAVALHO and RABO DE PEIXE olive oils are the result of a careful selection of high quality olives processed in a cold mill (ecological certificated). Our olive oils have a fruity aroma, moderately bitter and slightly spicy, revealing excellent biochemical parameters and are presently being certified as organic products.
