Bragança has as main variety the olive  Negrinha de Freixo. Trás-os-Montes Protected Designation Region begins in Alfandega da Fé, Vila Flor to Valpaços and Murça, and Mirandela.

Olive oils from this region have a nutty aroma, extremely balanced with sweet, green, bitter and spicy aromas.
