Introduction

Founded by partners Mário Pinheiro and Nuno Bicó, the winery project Ribafreixo Wines comprises the 282 acre Moinho Branco Estate at Vidigueira, a region with a long-standing wine-making tradition. Our winemaker is Paulo Laureano, whose renowned ‘craft of making wine the right way’ has been instrumental for our success and growing presence.

Our mission is to continue producing competitively priced top-quality wines meeting the demands of the Domestic and Global markets. In a world where Portuguese wines are beginning to be recognised for their distinctiveness, our main ambition is to build and strengthen our positioning in the most diverse and demanding international markets, such as the United States, China, Canada and the UK, among others. This hard work combines with our presence in the domestic market, which is a key point in our brand’s communication strategy.

In the increasingly competitive universe of wine, we feel that we have strong differentiating factors, such as our strong bet on Portuguese grapes. It is these factors that make us view the future as sustainable, a view without which no company can succeed today.


Activities

• Leisure Zone: where our guests can comfortably taste a glass of wine while enjoying a magnificent view over the vineyards. In this area there is a capacity of about 50 seats;
• Wine Tasting facility : where we receive all visitors who want to taste and get to know our wines. The wine tasting will always be conducted by an employee duly instructed to do so;
• Gourmet Restaurant : Traditional Alentejo cuisine managed by our Chef Paula Caetano , with a refined dining room with seating for 50. The Restaurant is open Tuesday to Saturday from 12:30am to 3:00pm and from 7:30pm to 10:00pm (from Tuesday to Thursday dinners will be served only with prior reservation) . On Sundays, the restaurant is opened for lunch from 12:30am to 3:00pm. The restaurant is closed on Mondays.
