About:
These muscat wines are made from harvests of exceptional quality: 1989,1080 and 1975.
The best lots are discerningly chosen and placed to age in chestnut tuns.
Our dedication to excellence has won us the most distinguished awards, among which we should highlight the Golden Medal for the 1989 Moscatel in 2003 at the International Wine Challenge in London and the Citadelles de Bordeûs Trophy.
The ten year old Moscatel is made from a mixture of several single harvest wines, which make it a complex wine.
Grape Variety:
Moscatel Galego
Vinification:
This White is made from a blend of traditional Douro white grapes picked by hand in mid- September. The grapes are destemmed and crushed and make a short skin maceration before pressing. The alcoholic fermentation is made on a vat with strict control of temperature. Depending on the grapes, fermentation takes about 3-4 days being interrupted by the addition wine brandy to get the desired sweetness. The final results in a blend of wines aged in wood with an average age between 2 and 4 years
Aroma:
This White is very intense and fresh in aroma , floral with fruity notes such as peach, apricot and tangerine
Tasting Notes:
On the mouth the wine is sweet and soft, balanced and vividly given by the characteristic acidity of the grapes from the plateau of Favaios
